MScCS is an advanced course for students who already have a basic knowledge of computers. The course provides an opportunity to students to improve their skills sets. The program gives advanced knowledge of programming languages, computer graphics, networks & communication technology, client server and distributed database systems. Students will be exposed to software development through software engineering and project management techniques. The program gives fundamental knowledge of computers, operating systems, internet, computational techniques, file & data structure and the core of programming. After successfully completion of the first two semesters of MCA, if a student wishes to discontinue the course, such a student shall be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application [PGDCA]. In the third and fourth semesters of MCA, students will be exposed to programming languages, database management techniques, networking and software management techniques, communication techniques along with algorithmic theories. After successful completion of the first four semesters of MCA, if a student wishes to discontinue the course, such student shall be awarded the Master of Science in Computer Science [MScCS]. Objectives : The course is geared towards realizing the following objectives: - 1 To heighten technological awareness, 2 To encourage effective quality software development in teams. Eligibility : 3 years of graduation or equivalent. Course Fee : I &II Semester: Rs 9,500/- per semester, III and IV Semester: Rs 10,500/- per semester inclusive of exam fees or as revised from time to time. Min. Duration : 2 years (4 semesters) Max. Duration : 4 Years Maximum counselling and hands-on experience at study centers : 240 hrs/semester. centers : 160 hrs/semester. Provision for Lateral Entry to Third semester (Second
level): (1) Successful completion of BScIT / BCA / BSc (Computer Science) / BE / B Tech (Computer Science / Electronics & Communication) or equivalent. This category is not eligible for exit qualification for MScCS OR (2) Graduation (any discipline) with PGDCA / PGDIT or equivalent from a recognized university / Successful completion of A level course from DOECC after Graduation. OR (3) A 3 year graduation with 2 year diploma from CMC / ET&T / NIIT / APTECH / 2 year advanced diploma in IT from center for electronic design & technology (CEDIT). This category is not eligible for exit qualification for MScCS. |
